Youth Club to Use Funds for Expansion
Two grants totaling $135,000 have been given to the Boys & Girls Club of La Habra/Brea for the expansion of its education center.
The Weingart Foundation granted $100,000 to fund the Robert E. Fulton Education Center’s computer lab, and the Fulton Foundation granted $35,000 for operating expenses.
Club officials said the expansion project has been in the planning stages for the past 1 1/2 years. Work will begin soon.
The bigger center will include a computer lab, a research library, a conference room, a classroom and offices, club officials said.
The center honors Robert E. Fulton, founder of the club’s education center and a major supporter of the club who died in 1991.
Any youth who wants to join the club and participate in its after-school activities is welcome.
The club is at 1211 Fahringer Way in La Habra.
