LOS ALAMITOS
A delegation of district officials and teachers will head to Washington this week to receive Los Alamitos High School’s Blue Ribbon School award from the U.S. Department of Education. Assistant Supt. Carol Hart, who was principal of the high school for 13 years until last May, said the award was given to 166 schools nationwide. The Department of Education also awarded Los Alamitos High School and Orange County High School for the Arts special recognition for fine arts, an award given to eight high schools in the nation.
