Curry Helps Northridge Stay Perfect

Edniesha Curry scored 19 points and Tina Greer scored 14, and Cal State Northridge pulled away from Cal State Fullerton in the second half to win a nonconference women’s basketball game, 75-57, on Saturday at Fullerton.

Curry, who had four assists, made four of nine from beyond the three-point arc and Northridge (3-0) was six of 14 (43%) from three-point range.

Greer had six steals for the Matadors.

Lynda Amari scored 11 points and Neda Milic came off the bench for 10 for Northridge, which led, 32-25, at halftime and forced 36 turnovers by Fullerton (1-1).

Simon Fraser 103, The Master’s 63--Elizabeth Hansell 23 points and six rebounds but the Mustangs lost a Western Washington tournament game.

Master’s (4-2) committed 38 turnovers and was outrebounded, 33-25.

The Clan (4-0), ranked fourth in the NAIA preseason poll, went on a 28-6 run after the Mustangs closed the gap to 49-40 with 15:30 remaining in the game.

Valley 66, Ohlone 53--Porsche McAllister was named most valuable player and the Monarchs (4-0) won the Merced tournament.

The Monarchs trailed, 30-24, with 15 minutes remaining, then went on a 16-0 run after switching to full-court pressure defense.

Maricella Rodriguez of Valley had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and freshman center Tynisha Howze contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds.

El Camino 2, Ventura 0--Jaymie Britton and Lois Williams scored for the Warriors (17-1-2) to win the Southern Regional at Ventura.
