Woman, 86, Killed in 2-Vehicle Accident
An 86-year-old woman died Thursday afternoon from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident at Erbes Road and Avenida de las Flores, sheriff’s deputies said.
Dorothy Carlson died at Los Robles Regional Medical Center shortly after the 4 p.m. crash, Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Charlie Harwood said.
Carlson was riding in a pickup truck driven by her daughter, 49-year-old Gail Armey, also of Thousand Oaks, when it slammed head-on into a truck driven by Thousand Oaks resident Charles Fieweger Jr., Harwood said.
Fieweger was treated and released at the scene, and Carlson and Armey were both taken to the Thousand Oaks hospital. Armey was treated and released.
Armey was going south on Erbes Road when her pickup struck the northbound truck, whose driver was preparing to make a turn, Harwood said. Fieweger had the right of way, he said.
The crash is under investigation.
