Vigil Honors Victims of Domestic Violence
Community groups will hold a candlelight vigil tonight in Oxnard’s La Colonia neighborhood to draw attention to victims of domestic violence.
Hosted by the Ventura County chapter of the Farmworker Women’s Leadership Project, the vigil will start at 5 p.m. at Del Sol Park and proceed to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at the corner of Camino del Sol and Juanita Avenue.
A Mass will be said at 7 p.m. to support and honor abuse victims.
The event, which commemorates Domestic Violence Awareness Month, is co-sponsored by the Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence.
