Skip Away is the latest of racing’s top thoroughbreds who is scheduled to be retired to stud after the Breeders’ Cup on Nov. 7 at Churchill Downs.

Skip Away, a 5-year-old who can still become horse racing’s all-time earnings leader, will run his last race in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, trainer Sonny Hine said.

He will be shipped to Hopewell Farm in Kentucky to begin a career at stud in 1999 as the property of a syndicate.

Skip Away is scheduled to make his next starts in the Woodward Stakes on September 19 and Jockey Club Gold Cup on October 10.
