A fire Wednesday caused about $5,000 in damage at Saddleback High School, fire officials said.
Someone apparently set the fire in a hallway, and it spread to a classroom, damaging a doorway, carpeting and school materials, Fire Investigator Bob Eggleston said.
Firefighters were called at 6:53 a.m. and had the small fire out within a few minutes, he said. No injuries were reported.
Classes continued, although a section of the building was closed, he said. Eggleston said investigators believe the fire was deliberately set but declined to elaborate.
Investigators have no suspects.
