Village Christian 16, Fillmore 10--Sophomore quarterback Neil Gunn hit running back Ethan Forward on a 49-yard touchdown pass on fourth down with 31 seconds left to lift the Crusaders (1-1) at Kennedy High.

Junior fullback Ted Chewning of Fillmore (1-1) rushed 17 times for 96 yards.

Isaac Osegura scored on a seven-yard run on Fillmore's first possession to cap an eight-play, 80-yard drive.

Gunn connected with Paul Tait on a five-yard scoring pass with 9:35 left in the fourth quarter, but Matthew Ryburn's extra point failed after a high snap leaving Village Christian trailing, 10-9.

Ian Paul recovered a high snap on a Fillmore punt to give the Crusaders the ball on the Flashes' 20-yard line.
