The Planning Commission tonight will decide whether to give the owner of an elder care facility another year to expand the kitchen and shower area. The previous owner had received approval to expand the Artesia Gardens Guest Home, 6041 Kingman Ave., but the new owner said he needs more time to get bids, complete the grading and have the city check the building plans. The commission will also consider whether to combine two parcels at the Kingman Avenue property into one so the owner can expand beyond the current boundaries.
