Duncan Free Throws Spur San Antonio, 81-80

Tim Duncan scored 20 points and connected on two free throws with 3.2 seconds to play Friday night to give the San Antonio Spurs an 81-80 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at San Antonio.

The Spurs, who have won 21 of their last 25 games, also got 20 points from David Robinson, while Sean Elliott added 15.

Rasheed Wallace led Portland with 23 points, 14 in the fourth quarter, while Isaiah Rider scored 14.

Detroit 80, New York 71--Lindsey Hunter scored a season-high 23 points and the Pistons held the Knicks scoreless for nearly six minutes down the stretch at Auburn Hills, Mich.

The Pistons limited the Knicks to 24 points in the second half.

Cleveland 91, Toronto 90--Shawn Kemp scored 23 points and Doug Christie missed a layup at the buzzer in overtime at Toronto, allowing the Cavaliers to add to the Raptors’ woes.

After winning a franchise-high six consecutive games, the Raptors have lost six in a row.

Boston 82, Miami 81--Antoine Walker made a three-point basket with four-tenths of a second left to give the Celtics the victory at Boston.

Walker scored 12 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter as the Celtics rallied with a 18-6 run in the final five minutes.

Charlotte 95, Milwaukee 94--David Wesley scored 15 points and made a pair of free throws with 2.1 seconds left at Milwaukee as the Hornets won their sixth consecutive game.

Washington 87, Chicago 70--The Wizards set a record for fewest points allowed and cruised to a victory at Washington.

Otis Thorpe had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Wizards.

Philadelphia 93, Indiana 83--Allen Iverson scored 26 points for the 76ers at Philadelphia.

It was Philadelphia’s second consecutive victory over Indiana after losing 10 in a row.

Jalen Rose led the Pacers with a career-high 28 points, 20 in the first half.

Phoenix 92, Dallas 85--Jason Kidd of the Suns continued to torment his former team, scoring 13 of his 24 points in the second half at Phoenix.

Kidd added 12 assists for his 22nd double-double of the season as the Suns stretched their winning streak over the Mavericks to nine games.

Minnesota 89, Vancouver 75--Joe Smith scored 26 points and James Robinson made a pair of key three-point shots for the Timberwolves in the fourth quarter at Minneapolis.

Minnesota was playing its third consecutive game without Kevin Garnett, who has been battling dehydration brought on by the flu.

Atlanta 91, Orlando 79--Mookie Blaylock scored a season-high 30 points and Steve Smith added 20 for the Hawks at Atlanta.

Smith, the Hawks’ leading scorer, was activated from the injured list after sitting out the previous eight games because of a sore left knee.

New Jersey 121, Seattle 91--Stephon Marbury scored 18 points and had 11 assists as the Nets won at Seattle for the first time in 10 years.
