HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP

Highland def. Littlerock, 15-5, 15-6, 15-12--Adam Green had 11 kills and nine digs, and the host Bulldogs, ranked No. 3 in the region, won the Golden League match.

Jon Miller added seven kills and 11 digs, and Jody Shadrick finished with 23 assists and 10 digs for Highland (10-0, 6-0).

Alemany def. Crespi, 15-6, 15-13, 15-11--Joe Chavez had 15 kills, Darrin Phillips and Zach Harrod each added eight kills and Kevin O’Shea had 32 assists as Alemany (8-4, 6-3), ranked No. 9 in the region, won the Mission League match at Alemany.

BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Taft 79, El Camino Real 47--Blaine Bussey highlighted the West Valley League meet for host Taft by winning the 440-yard dash in 49.5 seconds.

Bussey, the defending City Section champ at 400 meters, was competing in his first meet of the season and also ran legs for Taft’s winning 440 and mile relay teams. He had been academically ineligible.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Cleveland 86, Granada Hills 39--Schquay Brignac won the high jump (5 feet, 0 inches) and 200 (27.6) for the Cavaliers in a North Valley League victory at Cleveland.

Brignac, the defending City Section champion in the high jump, competed for the first time this season after missing the first 10 weeks because of academic ineligibility.

Taft 82, El Camino Real 45--Deneeka Torrey won the 100 meter hurdles (14.9) and 330 yard low hurdles (46.2) for the host Toreadors in a West Valley League meet.
