HIP GOLF GARB

Spy V Style, an Irvine-based clothing company, has introduced a line of golf clothes that combine the California surfer look, the Hollywood nightclub look and traditional golf attire.

Started by Eric Spivey a little more than a year ago, Spy V Style is aimed at 15-to-35-year-old players.

“I looked around and I didn’t see any kind of golf clothes that I would wear,” said Spivey, 32. “It’s a more progressive look to golf for people who want to play golf and look cool at the same time. You can also go out or go to school in it.”

Which is the plan for the upcoming school year. Spivey has taken his line to Woodbridge, Corona del Mar, Newport Harbor and Irvine high schools and is working on getting uniforms for their golf teams.

Spy V Style clothes are available in several county pro shops and on the Internet at www.spyvstyle.com
