Police on Wednesday identified the gunman in a Tuesday morning shooting in Anaheim that left a woman dead and her brother wounded.

Police said Ricardo Corona Rodriguez, 32, shot the pair before turning the gun on himself. He died at the scene of an apparently self-inflicted wound to the head.

Contrary to initial reports, the woman, 18-year-old Erika Garcia Prieto, was not pregnant, police said. She also died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Her brother, Ernesto Garcia Prieto, 16, was wounded in the hip. He was treated at UCI Medical Center in Orange and released Wednesday afternoon, a hospital official said.

According to police, Rodriguez, who also went by other names, including Martin Gonzales and Jose Manuel Rivero, was renting a garage apartment from the victims’ parents.

Early Tuesday morning, Rodriguez and the 16-year-old got into an argument. The sister tried to intervene, and both were shot, police said.

After a nearly hourlong standoff, police found the two bodies inside the garage when they went to retrieve the victims’ 3-year-old sister. She was unharmed.
