A Los Angeles police officer fatally shot a man Thursday at a gas station, authorities said.
The man, whose age and name were not available, was pronounced dead at the scene from at least one gunshot wound, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for Los Angeles Fire Department.
Three suspects were arrested, said Don Cox, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department. It was not disclosed on what grounds the three were taken into custody.
The shooting took place about 8:20 p.m. at a Shell gas station at De Soto Avenue and Nordhoff Street. Authorities did not say what prompted the shooting.
Cox said one officer was injured when he was hit by a car. It was unclear if he fired the fatal shot. He was in good condition Thursday night at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
