Many teams go an entire season without playing an overtime game, but the Poly boys’ team has played four overtime periods in its first five games.
“It’s becoming frustrating because we shouldn’t be in these situations,” said first-year Coach Brad Katz. “We had the lead in all three [games].”
The Parrots lost their opener to Monroe, 80-78, in double overtime and lost to Camarillo, 63-61, in overtime. Poly won its third overtime game, defeating Franklin, 67-59, in the Simi Valley tournament.
Poly was headed for its fourth overtime game Tuesday until Scott Parisen of Reseda sank a 15-foot jumper with one second left to give the Regents a 64-62 victory.
