Greathouse Scores 37, Buena Rolls

Kelly Greathouse had a career-high 37 points to go with 11 rebounds and Buena High routed Royal, 76-37, on Tuesday night in a nonleague girls’ basketball game at Buena.

Greathouse made 16 of 22 shots for Buena (5-1), which was playing its first game since a 60-57 loss to cross-town rival Ventura in the championship game of the Buena tournament on Saturday.

Courtney LaVere had 13 points, 12 rebounds and five steals for the Bulldogs.

Notre Dame 65, Burbank 54--Nikki Imaromna scored 10 of her 17 points in the second quarter and teammate Angel Ampas had nine of her 11 in the same period in the Knights’ nonleague victory at Notre Dame.

Sierra Hauser-Price scored 18 points for Notre Dame (7-1), which has won three consecutive games.

Grant 82, San Fernando 49--Alexis Weatherspoon had 25 points and 18 rebounds for the Lancers in a first-round victory at the San Fernando tournament.

Weatherspoon scored nine points in the first quarter, when Grant took a 17-7 lead.

Leslie Mui had 15 points and nine assists for Grant (5-3). Mui made all five of the three-point shots.

Krystal Clay added 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Chatsworth 62, Kennedy 30--The Golden Cougars (1-3) jumped to a 5-0 lead, then watched the Chancellors score 20 consecutive points to take control of a first-round San Fernando tournament game.

Ashley Shelton had 15 points and five steals, and Liz Sun added 12 points, 10 steals and seven rebounds for Chatsworth (4-2). The Chancellors face Grant tonight in the semifinals.

Littlerock 53, Rosamond 25--Kristel Jones scored 10 of her 14 points in the second quarter for the Lobos in a nonleague victory at Rosamond.

Littlerock (7-3) outscored Rosamond, 18-4, in the third quarter.

Campbell Hall 75, St. Genevieve 56--Brittany Morris collected 32 points, 19 rebounds and six steals to help the Vikings win in the semifinals at the Providence tournament.

Rosey Iaccino scored 19 points for St. Genevieve (2-1).

Campbell Hall (6-1) moves on to play Providence (4-2) tonight in the final.

Canyon 48, Highland 39--Courtney Koenig scored 15 points and Allison Rendich contributed 11 for the Cowboys in a nonleague victory at Canyon.

Canyon (4-5) converted 24 of 32 free throws in the second half.

BOYS’

Channel Islands 74, Buena 70--Carlos Bello sank a short jump shot in the second overtime to put the Raiders ahead by three points, and Mike Keddington added two free throws with 10 seconds remaining to seal the nonleague victory at Channel Islands.

Keddington finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Manny Berrelleza scored 18 points for the Raiders (4-4).

Ryan Cobos scored 16 points and Roosevelt Bolden had 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Bulldogs.

Bobby Meyer of Buena sank a 26-foot shot at the buzzer to force a second overtime.

El Camino Real 45, Hart 33--Justin Saad-Anthony scored 21 points for the Conquistadors in an intersectional victory at Hart.

The Conquistadores (4-3) used a matchup zone defense to hold Liam Waters of Hart (1-6) to six points.

Harvard--Westlake 70, Crossroads 63--John Karavas had 16 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, for the Wolverines in a nonleague victory at Harvard-Westlake.

Russell Lakey had 25 points and seven assists for Harvard-Westlake (4-1).

Hueneme 62, Santa Paula 57--Franklin Thompson had 17 points and five steals for the Vikings (4-2) in the Oak Park tournament after collecting 24 points and 20 rebounds in a nonleague game against Santa Paula (2-4) last week.

Campbell Hall 68, Burbank 64--The Vikings made 15 of 24 free throws in the fourth quarter, and 25 of 37 overall, to hold off the Bulldogs in a nonleague game at Burbank.

Jesse Foster scored 28 points and Hassan Bassiri added 20 for Campbell Hall (5-2).

Frank Reed had 25 points for the Burbank (3-3), which attempted only 14 free throws.

Burroughs 69, Hoover 62--Kris Rubio scored 16 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t bring the Tornadoes all the way back in a nonleague game at Hoover.

Rubio sank seven three-point shots and helped the Tornadoes (0-6) rally from an 18-point fourth-quarter deficit to make the final score close.

Justin Ambos had 18 points and seven assists. Tyler Newton had 18 points and 12 rebounds points for the Indians (4-2), who led after three quarters, 50-32.

Saugus 73, Camarillo 59--Guard Tim Tampus had two three-point baskets and made eight of nine free throws in a 24-point, three-steal performance for the Centurions in a nonleague game at Saugus (5-5).

Ian Caldwell scored 22 points for Camarillo (3-3).

Canoga Park 60, El Monte 49--Jammie Harris scored 12 of his 28 points in the third quarter for the Hunters in a pool-play victory at the Crescenta Valley tournament.

Harris, a 6-foot-6 senior forward, had 13 rebounds and five blocked shots for Canoga Park (6-5).

Oak Bay (Canada) 61, Crescenta Valley 58--James Jenkins scored 18 of his 28 points in the second half, but the Falcons couldn’t hold off Oak Bay in the fourth quarter of a pool play game of the Crescenta Valley tournament.

Oak Bay (10-0) led, 61-55, late in the game before Crescenta Valley (6-2) hit a three-pointer with seconds remaining to cut its final deficit to three.

Dos Pueblos 77, Grace Brethren 51--John Durso had 18 points and 10 rebounds, but the Lancers (3-2) couldn’t overcome a 46-17 halftime deficit in a pool play game of the Oak Park tournament.
