A Sunland man was booked on suspicion of murder Thursday after he allegedly stabbed his roommate to death, police said.

Vincent Villard, 43, was stabbed about 12:45 a.m. Thursday at a house in the 10600 block of Langmuir Avenue, where he had lived with Lucas Gelbke, 26, said Officer Jim Zourek of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division.

Villard suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper body, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, police said. Gelbke was arrested shortly after the incident about three blocks away from the house where they lived.

A 14-year-old boy at the house was also stabbed, Foothill Division Det. Frank Bishop said.

The boy, who was treated at a hospital and released Thursday, has been returned to his parents, Bishop said.

Police said they do not yet know the motive for the stabbing, but “the 14-year-old heard some screaming and yelling” between the two men before the incident, Bishop said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Foothill homicide detectives at (818) 834-3115 or 834-3113.
