Aliso Niguel Shuts Out Villa Park

Freshman Stacy Lindstrom scored four goals to lead fifth-ranked Aliso Niguel to a 5-0 victory over Villa Park in a nonleague girls’ soccer game Thursday at Villa Park.

Cristina Gonzales also scored for the Wolverines (5-1-2).

In other nonleague games:

No. 1 Santa Margarita 2, Los Alamitos 0--Elizabeth Bartlett scored two second-half goals to lead visiting Santa Margarita (5-1).

No. 8 Edison 1, Dana Hills 0--Brooke Thulin scored a first-half goal for the visiting Chargers (7-1-1). Katie Shields made three saves for Dana Hills (2-4).

Fountain Valley 2, Foothill 0--Julie Scheppele, on an assist by Jessica Bertoni, scored in the first half and Niki Tycholis scored in the second half. Erin Empting assisted on Tycholis’ goal. Fountain Valley is 2-1-1.

Garden Grove 3, Tustin 1--Garden Grove trailed, 1-0, at the end of the first half, but came back with three goals. Katie Petrick tied the score in the opening minutes of the second half and Jessica Hull scored the winner midway through the half.

La Habra 3, Hacienda Heights Los Altos 1--Candace Galvan and Julie Hastin scored first-half goals to give La Habra a 2-0 lead and Natalie Roth scored in the second half for the Highlanders (4-0-2).

Mater Dei 2, Lakewood Mayfair 1--Alicia Hartley scored in the first half and Kali Felts in the second for Mater Dei (4-3).

Rosary 3, El Dorado 1--Shauna Rech scored three goals in the second half to lead Rosary back from a 1-0 halftime deficit.

Tarbut V’ Torah 1, Fairmont 1--Glenda Berman scored a goal for Fairmont (0-2-2), while Jo Marie Janco scored for Tarbut V’ Torah.

Troy 1, Orange Lutheran 0--Melissa Cravets scored a first-half goal for visiting Troy (4-5). Orange Lutheran fell to 3-4-1.

Westminster 4, Santiago 1--Maria Ramirez scored two goals while Dianna Hernandez and Carly Torgerson scored one goal each to lead host Westminster (4-1-1).

In the second round of the Brea Olinda boys’ soccer tournament:

Irvine 2, Fullerton 0--Juniors Ryan Mericle and Justin Carrera each scored first-half goals to lead Irvine (3-0). Vila Fuentes made eight saves for Fullerton (3-2-2).

In nonleague boys’ soccer:

No. 3 Mater Dei 4, Los Angeles Loyola 0--Kevin Novak scored two second-half goals and Chase Bastian and Matt Fennell each scored first-half goals to lead visiting Mater Dei (8-2-1).

Rancho Alamitos 2, Downey 2--The Vaqueros’ Carlos Miranda headed the ball into the net on a breakaway in the final minute to tie the score. Jessy Estrada also scored for host Rancho Alamitos (1-3-1).

Westminster 2, Los Amigos 1--Isreal Gimenaz scored the winner on a penalty kick in the 80th minute. Chad McGowan, with an assist by Gimenaz, scored the first goal, but Nestor Castillo tied the score a few minutes later, in the 70th minute. Phillip Jenkins had five saves for Westminster (7-5).
