Late Goal Gives El Dorado a Victory Over Los Alamitos
Karly Tivenan scored with 33 seconds left in regulation to give El Dorado a 5-4 victory over Los Alamitos in nonleague girls’ water polo Thursday at the Armed Services Reserve Center in Los Alamitos.
El Dorado’s Amber Taylor tied the score with 3:28 remaining. Heather Stamper had two goals for the Golden Hawks. Courtney Lee had eight saves for El Dorado (6-3).
Drue Wawrzynski had two goals to lead Los Alamitos (5-3).
In other nonleague games:
No. 4 Foothill 13, Mission Viejo 1--Gabrielle Domanic had three goals and Crystal Carroll had three goals, three steals and two assists to lead visiting Foothill (3-1). Mission Viejo is 3-2.
No. 8 Esperanza 8, El Modena 7--Katie Rousse scored the winning goal on a breakaway with 14 seconds left. Jessica Conner scored three goals to lead the visiting Aztecs (6-2). Gaby Garcia had three goals for El Modena (5-5).
Canyon 8, Brea Olinda 3--Six players scored goals for visiting Canyon (7-2), with Ashley Pease and Lauren Volcan scoring two each.
Tustin 12, Valencia 3--Evelyn Di Pommaso, Tia Montalvo and Kristen Anderson scored three goals each for host Tustin (9-2).
In nonleague wrestling:
Estancia 53, Newport Harbor 25--Victor Carmona (119 pounds) of Estancia (9-7) pinned his opponent in 14 seconds.
