Holiday Closures
The following are closures for today, Christmas Day.
Mail: All post offices are closed and no mail will be delivered.
Banks: All banks and savings and loan institutions are closed.
Transportation: MTA buses and trains will follow a Sunday schedule today. Free bus rides are offered until 5 a.m. today for all lines running those hours. Full fares are in effect for subway and light-rail lines. On Sunday, there will be reduced services for buses and trains. Metrolink trains will be out of service today.
Government: All federal, state, county and municipal offices--except those providing emergency services--are closed.
Courts: Courts are closed today.
Schools: Most public schools in Los Angeles County--including schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District--are closed until Jan. 3.
Libraries: County libraries are closed until Monday. Operating hours at individual cities’ libraries will vary this weekend.
