FOUNTAIN VALLEY
The Fountain Valley Kumon Center held its awards ceremony last week, recognizing local students for excellence in math and reading.
Students received awards in categories such as Most Improved and Advanced Student.
The Kumon Center offers individualized study programs developed by a Japanese educator 40 years ago. Students visit the center twice a week after school and are given assignments to do at home. The extra study is designed to develop good study habits and a positive attitude toward achieving academic goals.
