Outstanding spellers from Garden Grove Unified’s intermediate schools will participate in the annual spelling bee for seventh- and eighth-grade students Wednesday. Each of the district’s nine intermediate schools is sending four representatives to the competition, which starts at 6:30 p.m. at Irvine Intermediate School, 10552 Hazard Ave. The district champion and eight runners-up will go on to the Orange County Spelling Competition on March 3 in Costa Mesa.
