It has been no contest when No. 10 St. John’s has played Providence this season.

The Red Storm beat the Friars, 104-70, Monday night at New York, its second win against Providence this year by at least 27 points.

“They are very hard to play. They have so many answers,” first-year Providence Coach Tim Welsh said. “For us to play well we have to use the whole floor and run. They play our game a lot better than us.”

Lavor Postell had 17 points to lead St. John’s, 21-6 overall and 12-3 in the Big East. The Red Storm had five double-figure scorers.
