Cal State Fullerton 74, Long Beach State 65--The Titans dominated the rebounding and shot 47% from the field to defeat the 49ers at Long Beach.
It was Fullerton’s fourth consecutive victory against the 49ers and fifth in the last six games between the teams. The outcome left Fullerton (13-11, 7-7) half a game behind third-place Long Beach (11-14, 8-7) in the Western Division of the Big West.
The 49ers did clinch a spot in the Big West tournament when UC Santa Barbara defeated Cal Poly.
Matt Caldwell led the Titans with 15 points. Long Beach guard Ramel Lloyd had 21 points.
