Police released the identities Thursday of a Sylmar couple found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide.

Investigators believe Homer Noboru Endo, 81, shot his wife, Fujiye Endo, 79, then turned the gun on himself.

Police are waiting for an autopsy before they make final conclusions on who did the shooting, said Lt. Rick Papke of LAPD’s Foothill Division.

The couple’s bodies were discovered by their grown children, who had come for a visit, Papke said.

They were found lying next to each other in their one-story home in the master bedroom, under the covers, with a handgun nearby, he said.

No suicide note was found, but the couple’s children said Homer Endo, a retired nurseryman who had recently suffered a stroke and was being treated for depression, had begun to give some of his money to them in months prior to the shooting, Papke said.
