El Toro, Maag Stop No. 5 Santa Margarita

Gina Hintz scored off of Lauren Orlandos’ free kick in the 38th minute to give host El Toro a 1-0 victory over fifth-ranked Santa Margarita in Sea View League girls’ soccer Thursday.

Jaclyn Maag made eight saves for her seventh shutout. El Toro improved to 7-5-1, 2-1 in league.

In another Sea View League game:

Corona del Mar 1, Newport Harbor 0--Meghan Bryan scored unassisted in the 14th minute after collecting a loose ball and deflecting it in for her 15th goal.

Goalkeeper Britta Vogele made seven saves in her eighth shutout. Corona del Mar is 9-1-1, 1-1-1.

In the Century League:

Canyon 2, Foothill 1--Emily Osterfeld scored the game-winning goal in the 48th minute for visiting Canyon (9-5-3, 3-0).

Santa Ana Valley 1, Orange 0--Anna Velasquez scored midway through the first half. Santa Ana Valley improved to 7-3-1, 2-1.

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 2, Kennedy 0--Senior Sandy Stasch scored twice in the second half for El Dorado (9-7-2, 2-1).

Loara 2, Katella 1--Lauren Lappin scored her 18th and 19th goals of the season for Loara (9-4-1, 1-2), including the game-winner in the second half.

In the Freeway League:

Sunny Hills 1, La Habra 0--Simi Phull scored her team-leading 19th goal on a cross from Megan Broschak in the 20th minute. Ashley Moskovich made four saves for her 11th shutout.

In the Olympic League:

Brethren Christian 1, Whittier Christian 1--Whittier Christian’s Megan Brennan scored the game-tying goal in the last five minutes of regulation off of a pass from Ashley Plant.

Orange Lutheran 2, Ontario Christian 2--Erin Lea scored in the fifth minute for Orange Lutheran, but Alana Andrews’ goals gave Ontario Christian the lead. Molly Slane’s goal tied the score with three minutes left.

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 8 Laguna Hills 2, Costa Mesa 0--Kate Kosciuk and Julia Person each scored off a corner kick within five minutes of each other early in the second half.

The Hawks improved to 16-2, 3-0. Costa Mesa fell to 7-6-2, 1-2.

Aliso Niguel 1, University 1--University goalkeeper Nicole Williams made a diving save on a penalty kick in the first half to help preserve the tie.

In the South Coast League:

No. 1 Capistrano Valley 4, Trabuco Hills 0--Ashley Casas scored the first goal about halfway through the first half, then assisted on the next goal by Haleigh Roach. Casas scored again in the second half.

Capistrano Valley improved to 12-0-3, 3-0-1.

Trabuco Hills fell to 2-9-2, 0-4.

No. 9 Mater Dei 1, Dana Hills 0--Alison Fennell scored her 11th goal of the season on a penalty kick early in the second half.
