Nearly four years after his Iguana Cafe in North Hollywood closed down, Tom Ianniello has opened a new place: Exile Books and Music, 14925 Magnolia Blvd., Sherman Oaks, (818) 986-6409. Ianniello jokes that the two establishments are similar, but very different. He describes the Iguana as a coffeehouse that had books and live music, while his new place is a bookstore that serves coffee and has live music. Open mike night is Sunday with sign-ups at 6 p.m.

* The Hard Hat Company will present “Wilde At Heart,” a program based on the life and writings of Oscar Wilde, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnes & Noble, 731 N. San Fernando Road, Burbank. The performance will include selections from “The Importance of Being Earnest,” “The Ballad of Reading Gaol,” “A Woman of No Importance,” and “Lady Windermere’s Fan” as well as Wilde’s poetry and literary criticism, (323) 769-5010.

* Junius Podrug, author of “Presumed Guilty,” will discuss his two new releases--the thriller “Frost of Heaven” and the nonfiction “Stop Being a Victim”--at 7:30 tonight at the Borders Books and Music, 9301 Tampa Ave., Northridge, (818) 886-5443. Also, Borders Northridge presents the music of singer-songwriter Hollye Dexter at 8 p.m. Friday and the Electric Lounge Band at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
