Two-sport standout Chanda McLeod of Marina High announced Thursday that she has committed to play volleyball at Arkansas, but she left open the possibility of also joining the Razorback basketball team.

A two-time all-county volleyball player, McLeod helped the Vikings win the 1997 state Division I volleyball title. She was a second-team all-county basketball player last season and she currently leads the third-ranked Vikings in scoring and rebounding.

“It’s a little farther from home than I wanted to go, but it’s a good fit for me,” McLeod said. “I want to play on a national title contender. Arkansas believes it has the tools to do that, and I’ve been told I’ll start as a freshman.”
