Rain May Dampen Super Bowl Sunday

While sunny skies and warm temperatures are expected for the Super Bowl in Miami, Ventura County residents may be watching the game as rain falls across the area.

There is a 40% chance of showers throughout Sunday with expected high temperatures in the mid-60s and lows in the 40s, said Stuart Seto, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service’s Oxnard office.

“We probably won’t get a lot of the storm because most of it will go off to the north,” Seto said.

About a quarter-inch of rain is forecast for inland and coastal areas with slightly more precipitation expected in the county’s mountains. The snow level may dip to 6,000 feet and the surf could peak with 6-foot breakers.

There is a 20% chance for continued wet weather Monday, Seto said. The long-range forecast showed Tuesday being cloudy but dry with sunny skies returning on Wednesday. Today will see high clouds and haziness with a 10% chance of rain after 10 p.m.
