Suit Over GOP Panel Removal Dismissed
A federal lawsuit challenging the removal of Virgel Nickell from Orange County’s GOP Central Committee after he supported a Democrat for the Assembly has been dismissed.
Nickell was kicked off the committee after endorsing Lou Correa against incumbent Republican Jim Morrissey for the 69th Assembly District. Nickell had run against and lost to Morrissey in 1994.
Correa unseated Morrissey in the election last November.
