Restaurant Group to Host Golf Benefit

* The Ventura County chapter of the California Restaurant Assn. will host the Golf Funfest Wednesday at the Buenaventura Golf Course, 5880 Olivas Park Drive, Ventura. Show to Benefit Children’s Theater Group

* The Gypsy Players will present “The Hilarious Hillbilly Massacre,” an interactive murder-mystery dinner show Thursday and Friday and Aug. 12 and 13 at 7 p.m. at Dakota’s Mesquite BBQ & Steakhouse, 2525 Stow Ave., Simi Valley. College Foundation to Sponsor Concerts

* The Ventura College Foundation will sponsor a benefit concert series from 6 to 8 p.m. every other Saturday through September at the outdoor stage on campus, 4667 Telegraph Road. Teresa Russell will perform Saturday, followed by Brother Orphan on Aug. 7, Bob Jones on Aug. 21, Acadiana on Sept. 11 and Blues Stew on Sept. 25. Youth Club Presents Food, Wine Festival

* The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo will hold its 12th annual “A Taste of Camarillo” food and wine festival from 1 to 4 p.m. July 25 at the Cal State Channel Islands campus, off Lewis Road, Camarillo. More than 60 wineries and 40 food vendors will provide taste samples. Wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres will be served beginning at 1 p.m. with a wine auction at 2 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Estrada Brothers Jazz Band. $45 advance, $50 at the event. Sale to Raise Money for Children’s Hospital

Rotary to Sponsor Kids Golf Tournament

* The Rotary Clubs of Camarillo will sponsor the seventh annual Care for Kids Golf Classic on July 26 at Spanish Hills Country Club, 999 Crestview Ave., Camarillo. Salsa Festival Offers a Dash of Exercise

* Organizers of the sixth annual Oxnard Salsa Festival will hold a 5K salsa dash July 31 beginning at Oxnard’s Heritage Square and ending at the festival site in Plaza Park. All runners who finish the race will be entered into a prize drawing. Tournament to Aid Wellness Community

* The Wellness Community Valley-Ventura will host its seventh annual Celebrity Golf Tournament Aug. 2 at the North Ranch Country Club, 4761 Valley Spring Drive, Westlake Village. Salsa Music Festival at Lake Casitas

* The California Salsa Music Festival, sponsored by the Ventura-East Rotary Club, will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at Lake Casitas, off Highway 150, outside Ojai. Along with music there will be salsa dance instruction, dance contests and food. Ojai Inn Presents Golf, Tennis Classic

* The Ojai Valley Inn & Spa will host the 10th annual Golf & Tennis Classic Aug. 30 at 905 Country Club Drive, Ojai. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. The entry fee for the golf tournament is $450, which includes breakfast, lunch, a cocktail reception and dinner; or $750, which also includes overnight accommodations and a spa treatment. Transplant Group Plans Lunch, Golf Event

* The Ventura chapter of Transplant Recipients International and the Dumont-UCLA Transplant Center will host its inaugural Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Luncheon and Golf Outing on Sept. 10 at the Sherwood County Club, 320 Stafford Road, Thousand Oaks. The program will include lunch and a silent auction. Golf will be available for corporate sponsors.
