A car struck and killed a bicyclist at a Huntington Beach intersection late Saturday, police said.

The cyclist was hit as he tried to cross Beach Boulevard at Slater Avenue about 9:25 p.m., said Huntington Beach Police Lt. Ron Burgess. The car was traveling south on Beach, he said. As of late Saturday, police did not know who was at fault or the identity of the victim.

The accident was the second of its kind in as many days in Huntington Beach. A 10-year-old boy was critically hurt Friday after his bike collided with a car on Litchfield Drive. The boy was not identified and remains hospitalized at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
