Corona del Mar 9, El Segundo 8--The Sea Kings (20-8) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the Division IV title, the school’s first since 1981.
Alex Bottom hit a one-out, bases-loaded single to drive in Eric Weithorn and Mark Hatfield with the winning runs to cap the rally for Corona del Mar, which won despite making seven errors and leaving 12 runners on base.
El Segundo (25-7) took a 6-4 lead on four Corona del Mar errors in the sixth, and extended it to 8-4 with the help of two more errors in the seventh.
