Titans’ Oborn Is Finalist for Award
Cal State Fullerton outfielder Spencer Oborn is one of five finalists for the Dick Howser Trophy honoring the college baseball player of the year chosen by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Assn.
The other finalists are Florida State second baseman Marshall McDougall, Baylor pitcher-designated hitter Jason Jennings, Rice pitcher Mario Ramos and Alabama shortstop Andy Phillips.
Oborn is batting .401 with 14 home runs and 79 runs batted in.
The winner will be announced Saturday at the College World Series in Omaha.
