Washington Union, 4-Time Defending Champion, Dominates Corona del Mar

DeShawn Stevenson scored 28 points to lead Fresno Washington Union to an 83-53 victory over Corona del Mar in the first round of the Southern California Division III boys’ basketball playoffs Tuesday at Washington Union High School.

Stevenson had 20 points in the first quarter to help Washington Union (23-6), the four-time defending Division III champion, take a 26-15 lead en route to its 18th straight victory. Stevenson had five three-pointers in the game.

Kevin Hansen scored 14 points and Dennis Alshuler had 10 to lead Corona del Mar, which could only muster six points in the second quarter and trailed, 46-21, at the half. The Sea Kings finished the season 18-12.
