A Fork Fit for Frustrated Food Snatchers

Share

You are trying to steal the last French fry off your dining partner’s plate, but your fork won’t quite reach. If only the handle were a little longer, you wouldn’t be fry denied! Thanks to the telescoping spoon and fork, each with chrome handles that extend from 9 to 24 inches, the work of food kleptomaniacs is a little easier.

The innovative silverware set ($16) comes from Made by Humans in Vancouver, Canada. The company of mostly transplanted Dutch designers markets inexpensive contemporary gifts, such as a plastic flower vase with suction cups that can attach to windows ($12.50 to $14). According to Vice President Freddie Boersma, “There are plenty of nice designs that are expensive. Our philosophy is to make nice, good-looking products that are affordable.”

Although the products are modern-looking, they are made by humans, hence the company name.

“We live in a technological society, but it is good to remember that everything is made by humans for humans,” he explains. “But we don’t mind selling to aliens, should they ever arrive.”
