Corona del Mar Tennis Player Jensen Signs With USC

Christian Jensen, a member of the county’s top-ranked boys’ tennis team at Corona del Mar High, has signed to play at USC, his father, Bob Jensen, said.

Jensen, an All-Sea View League selection last year, reached the quarterfinals of the Ojai interscholastic boys’ doubles last month.

Lori Peterson, an assistant at Edison the last two seasons, has been named softball coach at the new Northwood High in Irvine.

Peterson previously coached at Fountain Valley, where she played in high school. She was an all-state selection at Golden West College, and made an all-region team at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Tommy Neptune of Laguna Beach has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Santa Clara, his father, Mike, said.

Neptune, a four-year starter for the Artists, led the Pacific Coast League in scoring last year, with 13 goals.

Mark Oehlman of Woodbridge High has signed to play soccer for Westmont College, his father, Bob, said.

Oehlman was a first-team All-Sea View League and All-Southern Section Division II selection and a second team Times Orange County pick. He scored a team-high 17 goals for the Warriors, who were section champions,

Chris Greene, a driver for the Villa Park boys’ water polo team, has signed with George Washington University, his father, John, said.

Greene was a two-time Century League first-team and Southern Section second-team selection. He is also among the county’s top-ranked swimmers in the 50 freestyle and might compete in that event in college, his father said.

Erin VanHorn, a goalkeeper at Costa Mesa High, has signed with Biola to play women’s soccer, Biola Coach Dave Christensen said.
