SPUR NOTES

The Spurs’ best shooter wasn’t a factor in the last series, and isn’t expected to be one in this series. Steve Kerr, who holds the NBA single-season record for three-point shooting, doesn’t get far from the bench these days.

Kerr signed with the Spurs after a five-year run with the Bulls, leaving with three rings and several offers.

Unfortunately, when the Spurs tried to play the 6-foot Kerr alongside the 6-0 Avery Johnson, opponents just posted one of them up and beat on them.

“It wasn’t like I had a choice of three or four teams where I could be an all-star,” Kerr says. “Of the offers I had, this is still the best team.

“It’s been an adjustment, obviously. Luc [Longley] and Scottie [Pippen] both had a tough time this year, at times. Obviously, I have. You get used to playing one way, then you get thrown in with a different situation.”
