Character Study

I wanted to thank you for your interview with Russell Crowe (“At Home With His Range,” by Amy Wallace, Oct. 31). He is, without a doubt, one of the most charismatic, talented actors working today, and I sincerely hope that more attention is paid to him in the near future.

The fact that Crowe was willing to sacrifice screen time in “Mystery, Alaska” in order to make sure that the movie was the ensemble piece originally envisioned by the filmmakers confirms that he is also a generous actor, which is yet another reason to respect not only his talent but his character.
