But St. John Bosco answered with a 78-yard drive in 10 plays to take the lead for good, capped by Derek Williams’ nine-yard touchdown run.

A pair of field goals by Mike Matuz increased the Braves’ lead to 19-7 early in the second quarter. The second came after Servite’s Doug Ford fumbled a kickoff return, giving St. John Bosco possession at Servite’s 33-yard line.

Servite then went 40 yards in 12 plays, using up six minutes and getting a 29-yard field goal by Stephen Ayers.

But the Friars’ lone possession of the third quarter ended when Marcus Cassell intercepted Adam Ernst’s pass at St. John Bosco’s 13-yard line.

The Braves put the game away by using 7:36 of the fourth quarter to drive for a touchdown. Beginning at their own five-yard line, the Braves ran 13 plays, all on the ground, scoring on a nine-yard run by Andre Ramirez.

After Ernst was intercepted on the Friars’ next play, Williams scored on a 25-yard run with 2:20 to play to make the score 31-10.
