Canyons 24, Santa Barbara 17--Chris Kobe completed 22 of 41 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns with one interception for the Cougars at Santa Barbara.

Kobe threw touchdown passes of nine, 21 and nine yards, and Mark Hamilton caught seven passes for 56 yards for Canyons (6-2, 3-2), ranked No. 20 in the state.

Todd Hourigan, Adam Boyd, Brandon Braga and Gerald Jones intercepted passes for Canyons, which scored on four of its five first-half possessions.

Heloyt Cervantes kicked field goals of 19 and 24 yards, Jason Kitchens caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Kobe and Ahjeron Palmer capped an 11-play, 96-yard drive with a 21-yard touchdown reception that gave Canyons a 27-3 lead just before halftime.

Russell McCarthy completed 13 of 34 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions for the Vaqueros (3-5, 2-3).

Jason Stone caught four passes for 168 yards for Santa Barbara.

Hourigan recovered an errant lateral by McCarthy in the Santa Barbara end zone on the first play from scrimmage to give the Cougars a 7-0 lead.

Major Caldwell rushed for 104 yards in 22 carries and Richard Zeller caught four passes for 45 yards for Canyons, including a nine-yard touchdown reception early in the fourth quarter.
