In other City playoff matches:
Palisades d. Van Nuys, 15-7, 18-16, 14-16, 15-10--Margot Wallace had 25 kills and eight blocks for No. 16 seed Van Nuys (7-6) in a match that lasted over two hours at top-seeded Palisades (13-1), the two-time defending City champion.
Debbie Lim had four of her 16 kills for Van Nuys in the second game, which took 45 minutes to complete.
Sylmar def. Franklin, 15-10, 15-0, 15-6--Stephanie Cisneros had a .393 hitting percentage for second-seeded Sylmar (13-1). Cisneros had 14 kills in 28 attempts.
Venice def. Poly, 15-10, 15-10, 10-15, 15-3--Youssra Marjoua had 15 kills and Sonia Torres had 11 kills for No. 5 seed Poly (12-2) in a home loss.
Chatsworth def. Huntington Park, 15-11, 15-12, 15-3--Linda Wang had 12 kills and three aces for fourth-seeded Chatsworth (14-0) in a home victory.
GIRLS’ GOLF
Ina Kim was medalist with a two-over-par 74 in the North Regional at Santa Barbara Golf Club to help Harvard-Westlake (246) advance to the Southern Section finals on Nov. 15.
Also advancing from the region were Hart (264), La Reina (264) and Chaminade (269).
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Camarillo’s Lauren Gaona defeated teammate Michelle Alvarez, 3-6, 6-0, 6-0, to win the Pacific View League tournament singles title.
Alexandra Lee and Stephanie Novak of Camarillo won the doubles title.
