El Toro 13, Canyon 6--Trevor McMunn and Brett McCleave each scored three goals for host El Toro (24-4), which led, 11-2, at the half. Kyle Knobloch added one goal and had three steals for the Chargers. El Toro goalie Ali Khalessi had eight saves. El Toro advanced to the second round and will face Villa Park at a site to be determined.

Foothill 14, Irvine 5--Pat Logan scored seven goals and Brett Reynolds had two goals and three steals for Foothill (17-9), which outscored visiting Irvine, 6-1, in the second half. The Knights will play Long Beach Wilson in the second round.

Newport Harbor 17, Long Beach Millikan 3--Robert Weiner scored four goals to lead second-seeded Newport Harbor (26-2), which led, 12-3, at the half. The Sailors will face L.A. Loyola in the second round.

North Hollywood Harvard Westlake 14, Capistrano Valley 7--Ted Zepfel scored four goals, Mike Gross had three goals and Andrew Herr scored two for host Harvard Westlake, which outscored San Clemente, 7-3, in the second half. Joe Axelrod stopped 13 shots in goal for Harvard Westlake.

Villa Park 13, Aliso Niguel 8--T.J. Matijevich and Ross Pulver scored four goals each for host Villa Park (21-6). Aliso Niguel (13-13) scored all eight of its goals in the fourth quarter.
