Westlake Singled Out by Laguna Hills, 14-4

Jessica Prause won, 6-1, 6-0, 6-1, and defending Division III champion Laguna Hills High swept in singles play to beat Westlake, 14-4, in a Southern Section Division III quarterfinal match Tuesday at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

Amber Hempbill and Anna Zimmerman of Westlake (16-5) won two doubles sets by 7-5 scores.

Lindsay Weiss and Lauren Baer, who had lost only six games in the playoffs, managed to win only one set for the Warriors.

Lauren Cardoni and Lauren Townsend had the only other victory against No. 4-seeded Laguna Beach (13-6).

Chaminade 16, South Pasadena 2--No. 1 player Kinsley Carnahan won, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0, for the Eagles in a Division IV quarterfinal match at Chaminade.

Jessica Testwuide won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-3, 6-0, as Chaminade lost only 21 games in completing a singles sweep.

Kym Jordan and Mahsa Merat swept at No. 2 doubles, 6-2, 6-2, 7-5, for Chaminade (15-3).

The No. 1 doubles team of Lily Huang and Connie Tsai won the only two sets for South Pasadena.

Calabasas 14, La Canada 4--Erin Everly won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, for the Coyotes in a Division IV quarterfinal victory at Calabasas.

The Coyotes (18-3) surrendered only six games to La Canada (13-9) in doubles play and host Chaminade in the semifinals.

Kim Gilmour won two sets at No. 3 singles for the Spartans, defeating Marissa Kagan, 6-4, and Brittany Bierman, 7-5.

Chelsea Bernstein of La Canada defeated Kagan, 6-4, and picked up a second victory when Bierman defaulted with an injured right shoulder.

Harvard-Westlake 14, Agoura 4--Chelsea Heller and Chelsea Dillion won at No. 1 doubles, 6-3, 6-0, 6-2, for the Wolverines (17-2) in a Division III quarterfinal victory at Agoura.

Katelyn Rader and Zelda Harris won 6-1, 7-6, (7-2), 6-1, at No. 2 doubles as Harvard-Westlake won eight of nine doubles sets.

Brooke Borisoff won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-4, 6-1, and finished the season 50-0 for Agoura (12-10).

Cate 15, La Reina 3--Lori Stern and Leone Price swept their singles sets for the Rams (15-0) in the Division V quarterfinals at Cate.

Cate (15-0) will play Santa Maria St. Joseph on Thursday.

La Reina (13-5), champion of the Tri-Valley League and ranked No. 9 by The Times, did not have a multiple-set winner.
