Capistrano Valley Christian 14, La Canada Flintridge Prep 0--Thomas Grove broke up a scoreless tie, scoring on a 64-yard punt return in the first minutes of the fourth quarter to lift the Eagles in a nonleague game at Laguna Beach High School.
Bryan Peters added a 30-yard touchdown run later in the quarter to clinch Capistrano Valley Christian’s third victory in four games.
Dustin Smith rushed for 138 yards in 28 carries for the Eagles.
Flintridge dropped to 1-3.
