Either Burroughs is getting better or its opponents are getting worse.
Perhaps a little of both explains Burroughs’ 2-2 start. After allowing 64 points in their first two games against Newbury Park and Notre Dame, the Indians have limited their last two opponents--La Canada and Glendale--to three points.
“It does pay off to play teams like Notre Dame and Newbury Park early,” Coach Keith Knoop said. “In the past we’ve scheduled soft teams early and it hurt us when we got into league [play].”
