Yorba Linda Man, 22, Dies After Being Run Down by Car Near Lakebed Park
A 22-year-old Yorba Linda man died early Thursday after being struck intentionally by a car, police said.
The incident followed an argument among a group of men near Lakeview Avenue in Yorba Linda, police said. Investigators gave this account of the events:
Daniel Bryan How of Yorba Linda and his friend were near Lakebed Park when three other men in a white sport-utility vehicle approached them shortly after 2:30 a.m. A fight broke out, and the three deliberately ran down How with their car.
How’s friend, who received only minor injuries, ran to a nearby house to call 911. Officers and paramedics who responded to the call found How dead at the scene. The three men in the vehicle fled.
The case is being investigated as a homicide, and police are still looking for the three suspects, said Lt. Doug Dickerson of the Brea Police Department, which has jurisdiction over Yorba Linda. The incident does not appear to be gang-related, he said.
