UCLA (3-4, 1-3) at Oregon State (3-3, 0-3)

Share

* Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Reser Stadium, Corvallis, Channel 9.

* Story line: This is for last place in the Pacific 10. Rather, for avoiding it. UCLA, the defending champion, falls into the cellar with a loss. Oregon State stays there with one.

* UCLA update: Receiver Danny Farmer is questionable because of the strained groin that has kept him out of practice all week. He will not start even if he does play, meaning Freddie Mitchell will move into the opening lineup. This comes as the Bruins are hoping to get significant playing time from fullback Durell Price (strained abdominal muscle) and tight end Bryan Fletcher (strained groin).

* Oregon State update: The Beavers started 3-0 under new Coach Dennis Erickson, but that was against Nevada, Fresno State and Georgia Southern. Then came the three-game losing streak, to USC by 8 points, Washington by 26 and Stanford by four.

* Edge to Oregon State: The Beavers have a lot of offensive weapons and the Bruins have a lot of injuries.

* Line: UCLA by 1 1/2.
