Oxnard def. Channel Islands, 15-8, 15-2, 15-3--Sarah Morrison had 11 kills and the Yellowjackets (12-5, 10-0) extended their Pacific View League winning streak to 22 matches at Channel Islands.

Highland def. Lancaster, 15-7, 15-1, 15-17, 15-5--Brynn Olsson had nine kills with 17 digs and the Bulldogs (14-3, 8-0) won a Golden League match at Lancaster.

BOYS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Monroe 17, Van Nuys 47--Germain Ortiz led the Vikings to a sweep of the top four places in a Valley Mission League meet at Pierce College.

Ortiz ran a career best of 16:02 over the three-mile course to help the Vikings (6-0, 6-0) clinch the league title.

Birmingham 22, Taft 33--Ruben Ruiz ran a career-best 15:39 and the Braves (5-0, 5-0) clinched the West Valley League title at Pierce College.

MEN’S SOCCER

Cal Lutheran 3, Claremont-Mudd 2--Andrew Montenegro scored his second goal of the day in overtime and the Kingsmen (11-6, 8-3) won a SCIAC game at Claremont-Mudd (13-3-1, 9-1-1).

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Cal State Northridge def. Montana, 15-10, 15-7, 16-14--Laura Szymanski had 12 kills and the Matadors (6-8, 4-7) snapped a four-match losing streak with a Big Sky Conference victory at Northridge.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

San Fernando 6, Monroe 1--Gladys Preciado defeated Jessica Barrett at No. 1 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Claudia Perez and Valerie Mendoza beat sisters Cathy and Julie De La Cruz to avenge earlier losses for the Tigers (12-0, 9-0) in a Valley Mission League match at El Cariso Park in Sylmar.

Verdugo Hills 6, Hollywood 1--Jessica Rolan, defending City Section champion, defeated Chandary Kang, 8-0, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Dons (11-1, 6-1) in a Sunset Six League match at Hollywood.

Eunice Cho of Verdugo Hills didn’t lose a game at No. 2 singles.
