TOP RETURNERS
Paul Publico, LB, 5-11, 195, Sr.; Steve Alminiana, S, 6-2, 185, Sr.; Matt Abrams, DE, 6-1, 220, Sr.; Mark Battung, DL, 5-11, 225, Sr.; Steve Schinen, WR, 6-2, 185, Jr.
TOP NEWCOMERS
Mike Patterson, DT, 6-1, 265, Jr.; Aaron Goddard, LB, 6-2, 220, Sr.; Ryan Sandi, DE, 6-0, 205, Jr.; Shay Murphy, LB, 5-11, 185, So.; Mike Sanford, QB, 6-4, 185, Sr.; Damon Johnson, RB, 6-2, 205, Sr.; Jerry Wenze, WR, 6-1, 180, Sr.
OUTLOOK
Barnes is toying with a couple of offensive looks, including two-back sets. Whatever the offense, the Griffins’ 15-year streak of playoff appearances shouldn’t be in jeopardy. And with a record 122 players in camp, Barnes has no shortage of players to replace his graduated seniors. The lone returning starter is Publico, who led the team in tackles last season. Sanford, who impressed as a freshman at Los Alamitos before moving to Indiana, is back and will take over at quarterback.
